Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade Attends the 2011 Annual Meeting of the China Academy of International Trade

From 16 to 19 September 2011, 2011 China Academy of International Trade Annual Meeting and International Trade Development Forum was held at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). The event was hosted by China Academy of International Trade, University of International Business and Economics and Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade. School of International Trade and Economics of UIBE, Economics College of Capital University of Economics and Business were entrusted with the organization with support from College of Economics and Management of Beijing University of Technology and College of Economics and Management of Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU). The theme of this year’s annual meeting was “Enterprises’ Going Global.” Deputy Minister of Ministry of Commerce Mr. WANG Chao and former ministry leaders SHEN Jueren, CHENG Fei, WANG Wendong, Wulanmulun, SUN Zhenyu, Academician Mr. LI Jingwen from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Leading Group of the Central Finance and Economics, relevant divisions and bureaus under Ministry of Commerce and leaders from chamber of commerce were present this year’s annual meeting.

Mr. WANG Xuewen, President of the China Academy of International Trade and Mr. LIU Guijun, vice president of University of International Business and Economics delivered opening remarks respectively. Deputy Minister of Ministry of Commerce Mr. WANG Chao gave a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. He stated that the academy has established a good platform of academic exchange for China’s open economy and foreign trade; in face of the world’s new environment, the academy is on a new starting point and will achieve big. He expressed three of his hopes for the future development of the academy: make efforts to expand research results, providing theoretical basis for conversion and transformation of China’s foreign trade fashions; promote cooperation between enterprises and society and to conduct exchanges programs with foreign countries, learning and drawing lessons from foreign think tanks.

More than two hundred experts, academics and officials from around the country attended the annual meeting. Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade shared their monograph on Beijing Creative Industry Internationalization Development Research at the meeting and a CD on Hot Issues between 1999 and 2011 relating Beijing’s Foreign Economy and Trade. Vice president of China Academy of International Trade (CAIT) and president of Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade Mr. YAO Wang, and vice president of Beijing Academy of International Economy and Trade Mr. CHU Xiangyin attended and presided over the opening and awarding ceremony. Representatives from the Academy’s Secretariat, Economics College of Capital University of Economics and Trade, College of Economics and Management of Beijing University of Technology, College of Economics and Management of Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU), Business School of Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology, Economy and Trade Department of Beijing Agricultural College, School of International Economics and Trade of Beijing International Studies University and Economics Research Institute of Beijing Academy of Social Sciences.
