Vice-Chairman NI Yuegang Visits Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute

On Oct. 19, 2011, during Beijing delegation’s participation in the 16^th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair, CCPIT Beijing Vice-Chairman NI Yuegang visited Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute(IPIM) and had talks with LIU Guanhua, Executive Member of IPIM.

Mr. NI expressed that since Beijing’s participation in the last Macao International Trade & Investment Fair and Macao’s participation in the ICCIE, the two cities have enhanced mutual understandings and conducted more frequent communications on economy and trade and Beijing has paid more and more attention to Macao. CCPIT Beijing and IPIM have made positive attempt in promoting the economic trade between the two cities, hoping that the two sides may discuss long-term cooperation mechanism on the basis of agreement on friendly cooperation, and make full use of the resource advantages of the two cities to promote the cooperation in trade, technology and culture and to serve, in particular, the development of SMEs of the two cities. Mr. NI also suggested to explore new field for cooperation based on the enhancement of previous cooperation, for example, taking leverage of Macao’s language connection with countries of Portuguese speakers, jointly organize delegations to participate in trade events in countries of Portuguese speakers and EU countries and hold trade promotion talks in a cooperative manner. 

Mr. LIU Guanhua said that IPIM has paid great attention to the cooperation with Beijing's trade organizations, and has made great efforts in promoting the cooperation in creative and culture and environment protection industries. With regard to NI's suggestion, LIU was totally agree with him and expressed that they have already conducted such cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce as well as organizations of Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Beijing and Macao may start from participating in trade fairs held in Portugal and improve cooperation in this regard.

Director of Beijing’s Office for Hong Kong and Macao Affairs YANG Hong, and Senior Manager of IPIM LI Zaosen and WU Aihua also attended the discussion.
