CCPIT Beijing Chair Ms. XIONG JiuLing headed the CCPIT Beijing Trade Promotion Organization delegation to attend the 8th World Conference of Trade Promotion Organization (WCTPO), visited ProMexico and Cuba Chamber of Commerce at their invitation, signed a cooperative agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mexico City from 12 to 22 October 2010.
The 8th World Conference of Trade Promotion Organization was co-hosted by International Trade Centre (ITC) and ProMexico. A hundred fifty trade promotion professionals from 50 countries and regions around the world attended the conference.
The conference centered around the theme of “the success of export-amplify the influence of trade promotion organization in the constantly changing globalization environment,’ focusing on the topic of how to offer better service to enterprises members. ITC Executive Director Patricia Francis, General Director of ProMexico, Minister of Economy of Mexico and representatives from the individual countries spoke on experiences of trade promotion development, contents and modes of trade promotion organization services and how to offer effective services. During the conference, Chair XIONG held talks and exchanged ideas with representatives from the US, Canada, Mexico, Israel, Peru, Estonia, Oman, Burma etc. This visit was the first time that CCPIT Beijing organized trade promotion organizations in Beijing to attend a multi-lateral WCTPO meeting. It was a helpful trial to understand the trend of global trade development and the latest demand of commerce and industry of all countries, adjust timely and innovate means of trade services, learn about advanced trade promotion experiences.
