Beijing Chamber of International Commerce Conference held in Beijing

Conference of Beijing Chamber of International Conference (BCIC) was held in Beijing 29 September 2010. Vice Mayor of Beijing CHENG Hong attended the conference and delivered a speech. Vice Chair of China Chamber of International Conference Mr. DONG SongGen, Honorary Chair of International Chamber of Commerce Mr. FENG GuoJing, vice chair of China-Brazil Chamber of Industry and Commerce Kevin Tang and director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce Mr. LU Yan spoke at the meeting respectively. Seventeen representatives of overseas chambers of commerce and more than 200 BCIC members of foreign enterprises or organizations in China attended the conference which was presided over by deputy Secretary General of Beijing Municipal Government Mr. LIU Zhi.

The conference passed BCIC Charter, elected its council, supervisory board, executive director, chair, vice chair, supervisory and secretary-general and specially invited Vice Mayor of Beijing CHENG Hong as BCIC honorary chair. BCIC Organizing Committee director Ms. XIONG JiuLing delivered a work report in which she summarized BCIC’s work as follows: 1) find the right entry point, featuring internationalism and created many “firsts” in national chamber of commerce system; 2) created professional service system and promoted enterprises’ international operation; 3) intimating connection with enterprises and listening to their appeals and voices. For the coming work, Ms. CHENG said that 1) BCIC was to develop extensively and extend international exchanges by leveraging on BCIC’s dual strengths as both the economic diplomatic channel and non-governmental organization; 2) Offer systematic and professional services for enterprises’ international operation, help them solve problems and difficulties encountered in their proceeding to internationalized operation; 3) co-ordinate between member enterprises and the government, inform the government problems and demands of enterprises, help with government decision making.
