Chair of CCPIT Beijing Ms. XIONG JiuLling met with an economic and trade delegation from Canada’s Moose Jaw City led by its Mayor Glenn Hagel 18 June 2010. The purpose of the visit was to attract interested Chinese enterprises to invest in North America, especially SMs find home for their projects in WIC (World Incubator Center).

Ms. XIONG briefly introduced the economic development status quo of Beijing, and also the role that ZhongGuanCun Science Park plays as an incubator. Over 10.000 enterprises register in ZhongGuanCun Science core center every year, almost 100% of them are SMs. These enterprises enjoy government provided public services, growing and developing in ZhongGuanCun Science Park. She said Mayor Hagel came at the right time for his WIC project since Chinese government also encourages SMs to go out. In this regard, our council has the relevant experience and channel, and also special sections dedicated to this business. Promotions could be done by holding meetings and online promotion.

Mayor Hagel hoped that Moose Jaw become the distributing center of Chinese commodities, providing goods for medium and small retailers. For this, the delegation had specially visited furniture, clothing, ceramics, lighting markets and after which they thought Chinese commodities were of good quality and were competitive in price. He hoped that Chinese SMs come to MOOSE Jaw to develop their business and explore North American market by fully utilizing MOOSE Jaw’s geographical advantages (east to west rail line across the Canada, national expressway, rail line to US Chicago), network communication strength (widespread, reasonable price, rapid transmission) and commercial channels(local chamber of commerce and trade promotion organizations).
