The First China Art Market Development Summit Was Held In Beijing

The morning of 20 December, the first china art market development summit of the 7th ICCIE was held in Beijing Gehua Building. The meeting was co-sponsored by the ICCIE Organizing Committee Office, Beijing Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Center, Beijing Gehua Cultural Development Group, China's economic net, Exclusive contracted by the China Economic Net cultural industries channels.
 
The opening ceremony of the meeting was chaired by Wang Xudong, president of the China Economic Net. Beijing Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, Deputy Minister Zhang Miao make a speech. Tuo Zuhai, deputy director of Culture Market Department of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Commerce GATS, Deputy Director Lv Jijian gave the related policy detail explanation.

According to data from the Ministry of Culture, the total transactions of the Chinese art market in 2011 reached 210.8 billion RMB. In which, the art auction market transactions amounted to 97.5 billion RMB, galleries, art brokerage and Antiques Fair trading amounted to 35.1 billion RMB.
 
The center of the art market in the whole world become multi-polar pattern, Beijing as a world center of the art market is gradually emerging. Miao Zhang said in his speech, the art market in the Beijing area showing the prosperity and development of the situation. In 2011, Beijing Art transaction volume more than 160 billion RMB, accounting more than 80% of the country, Beijing cultural art market has become the world's fourth-largest art market after London, New York, Hong Kong.

In the speech, Cheung Kong Graduate School’s Business finance professor Jianping Mei said, China is gradually establish and improve the legal system, take tax from the artwork according to the tax laws that is not a problem. However, the artworks can be considered appropriate to tax cuts. Because the country's financial situation is better, have the room for tax cuts.
