Craft Art Exhibition Will Highlight Inheritance, Innovation, Cross-border, and Upgrade

The Eighth Cultural & Creative Industry Expo will be held in Hall 2 of China International Exhibition Centre which is the main exhibition hall. The exhibition collects and includes about a thousand traditional Arts and Crafts boutiques and inheriting and creative works integrated with the modern creativity, which are created by arts and crafts masters at the national and municipal levels. Compared with the previous exhibition, the current Craft Art Exhibition highlights the theme of inheritance, innovation, cross-border, and upgrade, comprehensively showing the new results and new progress of the arts and crafts industry in the aspects of inheriting the excellent traditional crafts, making the cross-border design innovative, protecting and training talents, developing the urban industry, promoting the industrial upgrading, etc. in recent years. The exhibition has four exhibition halls: "Boutiques of 'Arts and Crafts Cup'," "Boutiques of 'Arts and Crafts Innovative Design Competition," "Well-known Enterprises," and "Folk Arts and Crafts Interactive Site."
Debut of Boutiques Winning Gold and Silver Medals
Through the evaluation of the Sixth Beijing Traditional Arts and Crafts Boutiques, it is determined that Beijing "Arts and Crafts Cup," "Beijing Arts and Crafts Innovative Design Competition," and other industry authoritative events will be held in the Cultural & Creative Industry Expo ahead of schedule in order that the art boutiques are on behalf of the highest level in the industry intensively. The works include jade and wood carvings, ivory carvings and bone carvings, metal crafts, ceramics, embroideries and many other types with unique inheritance and innovation, in which the large Hetian jade carving, Eight Great Sights of Yanjing, which is one of the "Projects of the 'Century treasures' of Beijing Arts and Crafts," is based on the masterpiece Map of Eight Great Sights of Yanjing which is collected in the Palace Museum, takes a Hetian jade of 3 tons as raw materials, reaches 180cm in height, and gathers "Eight Great Sights of Yanjing" in a piece of work, and furthermore, it is led and created by several masters collectively for the first time; the large cloisonne enamel work Treasure Bowl, which is elaborated by the national Arts and Crafts masters, and integrates the cloisonne enamel, carving enamel, and water spraying circulation processes, and it is a success profile of the innovative development of traditional cloisonne enamel technology; the jadeite carving Jingping Guanyin, which is led and designed by jade carving masters of Shinco Goalmark and has been produced by several Beijing Arts and Crafts masters for three years, is 88cm in length and 42cm in width, selects weathered jadeite, and ingeniously uses circular carving, embossing, openwork carving and many other jade carving superb techniques, and it is invaluable.
Urging exhibits to be interacted with the market financing
The organizer of the arts and crafts exhibition area, Beijing Arts and Crafts Association, will begin business investment from October. By then, a specialized site will be opened up for exhibitors in the exhibition hall of Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, offering exhibits and project promotion platforms. The arts and crafts exhibition area will have a dedicated performance area for folk arts and crafts masters, allowing the "intangible cultural heritage" to approach the life of common people through the interactive experience. Beijing Arts and Crafts Network has been officially opened since June 16, 2013. During the Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, the website will offer a "Cultural & Creative Industry Expo Direct Train," which will show exhibits and live show pomp with the images when releasing the information of the arts and crafts exhibition area in time. The online and offline are combined, presenting an online Cultural & Creative Industry Expo which is not limited to the time and place.

The current Craft Art Exhibition is hosted by Beijing Municipal Commission of Economic and Information Technology, and is prepared by Beijing Arts and Crafts Industry Development Promotion Center, Beijing Arts and Crafts Association, and Beijing Arts and Crafts Combined Enterprise Group.
