Technology Integration • Cultural Drive --Introduction of Key Projects for Creative Design Exhibition Area

The Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, which takes "Technology Integration • Cultural Drive" as the theme, will be held in Hall 6 of China International Exhibition Center, which is the main venue.
In 2012, Beijing formally joined global creative urban network established by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and became the 12th city of the "Design Capital" in the world. The design creativity exhibition of the current Cultural & Creative Industry Expo takes "technology support, and design trade" as the core, takes the building of Beijing-Design Capital as the main line, and shows the important role of the design industry integrating science and technology, creativity and culture in promoting the traditional industry upgrading and modernization urban construction through five sections, such as international engineering, industrial revitalization, urban quality, brand building and talent training. By then, the implementation results of "Chinese Design Trade Market," the plan of "Red Star DreamWorks," "Capital Design Innovation Promoting Plan," "2013 China Design Red Star Award," "Design Journey," "3D Printing World," and other major projects will have a brand new appearance, in which there are the following key exhibiting contents:
-Chinese Design Trade Market. The Chinese Design Trade Market which was first introduced in the 5th Cultural & Creative Industry Expo in 2012 was officially opened in December 2012. It can provide domestic and international design trade information, design trade-making, clearing and design trade technology contract registration, exhibition and presentation, investment financing and other services. Currently, more than ten internationally renowned design companies or institutions have been settled. On the scene of the exhibition, the trade market functions and related service processes will be exhibited, and the enterprise docking, contracting and other activities will be organized and designed.
-China Innovation Design Red Star Award Exhibition Area. China Design Red Star Award was founded in 2006, and has become the most authoritative and internationally renowned design award in China. The areas of participating works have expanded to 28 countries and 30 provinces and cities in China. For eight years since the Red Star Award has been established, 24,918 products from 3,229 domestic and foreign enterprises have been participated in it in total. Dell, Motorola, 3M, Philips, Lenovo, TCL, Hisense, Skyworth, Suning, Kingship and other domestic and foreign well-known companies are all participants of Red Star Award. The current Cultural & Creative Industry Expo will highlight 40 award-winning products of 2013 Red Star Award, and will carry out the live collecting activities of 2014 Red Star Award.
-Design Capital and Design Journey Exhibition Area. As the design cultural tourism festival celebration activities throughout Beijing, Design Journey mobilizes the whole city and all the people to participate in it through the cross-industry, cross-region, cross-media communication and integration so that knowing design and loving design become an urban fashion. The exhibition area will exhibit the 188 activities of 118 joining sites of 2013 Design Capital-Design Journey Activities, and introduce 6-8 special tourism routes which start from Building of Design Capital and radiate the whole Beijing, including the China Millennium Monument, 751 fashion design squares, Creative Plaza of Workers' Stadium, Sanlitun and Dashanlan (West Street) and other major design creativity sites.
-Creative City Beijing Summit Activity Exhibition Area. Creative City Beijing Summit of the United Nations was held in Beijing from October 20 to 23, 2013. Mayors or representatives from 39 cities joining in the United Nations Creative Cities Network participated in the summit and jointly signed Beijing Declaration. The exhibition area will focus on the introduction of the achievements made by these cities in the aspect of promoting urban development by the creative design. --South Korea "K-DESIGN" Design Exhibition. Korea Institute of Design Promotion has organized more than 300 South Korean classic design works based on home products jointly created by 100 South Korean designers and design institutions to be exhibited in a concentrated way.
--3D Printing World Exhibition Area. The 3D printing technology is called as the flag of the arrival of the third industrial revolution. As a construction unit, Beijing Industrial Design Center treats Beijing Shangtuo Science and Technology Co., Ltd. as the subject of operation, and has built an entity service platform which takes the 3D printing technology as the core and a virtual service platform based on e-commerce and Internet of Things technology. The 3D printing technology entity service platform is located in the first floor of Beijing DRC Industrial Design Creative Industry Base, with an area of 1000 square meters. The platform is equipped with rapid molding machines, vacuum casting machines, three-dimensional scanners, three-dimensional cameras, post-processing and other equipment with four kinds of industry mainstream molding manners, providing 3D printing, reverse scan, design testing and other services. The exhibition scene will exhibit 3D printers, 3D scanning, reverse modeling and other interactive exhibition items and will show 3D printing samples applied to different fields.
--Founder Chinese Character Design Exhibition. It has exhibited Chinese character word art newly designed by Founder character library and the award-winning works of all the previous "Founder Award" Chinese Font Design Competition, the classic fonts of Founder character library, excellent designer inviting works, etc. For example, Founder Boyasong, Founder new alphabet calligraphy made in cooperation with Xu Bing who is a well-known artist, Founder pixel font made in cooperation with Guang Yu who is a graphic designer, Founder Miaowu font made in cooperation with Miao Wu who is a cartoonist, Founder Jinglei simplified font made in cooperation with Xu Jinglei who is a film star, etc., all appeared in the exhibition.
The new lifestyle brought by the original design is also a major highlight of the exhibition this year. The original design brand company one day will promote more original single products made in cooperation with designers by taking fun, banter, and ridicule optimism spirit as the core concept of product research and development so that the original concept penetrates into moments of life. VIESCA is the first domestic brand dedicated to the map kerchief design and marketing. It draws a map of a city on a soft kerchief and handkerchief, which is decorative and practical. The clear indication of routes, beautiful pattern colors and exquisite illustration design not only enable them to be fashionable and beautiful, but also enable them to become a road guide. It is not only another interpretation of the urban culture, but also a city memory and a unique city gift worth collecting and commemorating for people. Guizhen studio is dedicated to carrying forward traditional Chinese culture with the concept of "returning to innocence," making a number of useful attempts in the fields of painting, calligraphy and personalized leather goods making, and creating a number of artworks reflecting the characteristics of Tibetan traditional folk crafts and various ethnic minorities in cooperation with a lot of art studios. The exhibited artistic creativity series works of "returning to innocence," handcraft leather goods, artworks with Tibetan ethnic characteristics, oil paintings, calligraphy works, etc., reflect the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.
