News Briefing About the 8th Cultural & Creative Industry Expo Was Convened

News briefing about the 8th Cultural & Creative Industry Expo was held in Beijing International Hotel in the morning of October 28. Wu Baoan, director of the General Office of General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television which is a host unit of the Cultural & Creative Industry Expo, and Yu Changxiang, director of Department of Planning and Development attended the news briefing. Wang Hui, director of Beijing Municipal Government Information Office, hosted the news briefing.
 
In the news briefing, Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee Office of Cultural & Creative Industry Expo and Vice Chairman of CCPIT Beijing Sub-Council gave a brief introduction to the media about the main arrangements and activity features for the 8th Cultural & Creative Industry Expo. According to the introduction, taking “Promote cultural trade and speed up economic upgrade” as its theme, the 8th Cultural & Creative Industry Expo which will be held from 6 to 10 November will give a comprehensive display to the latest achievements of reform and innovation of China’s cultural system; highlight the new appearance of the industry brought by the in-depth integration of culture with technology and the interaction between culture and economy; vigorously promote cooperation in cultural trade and investment; attract public participation in a greater scope; expand the cultural consumption market; and conduct full-range and multi-channel international cultural exchange so as to boost Chinese culture going global. At that time, it will hold more than 100 activities, covering six series of comprehensive activities, exhibitions, sub-venue activities, forums and summits, trade promotions, and creative activities.  Compared with previous sessions, the main features of the current Cultural & Creative Industry Expo lie in: 1) Gathering original Chinese cultural brands to set up a multi-cultural trade platform; 2) Highlighting cultural and financial innovation to vigorously promote the landing of major industrial products; 3) Encouraging cultural consumption to expand cultural consumption market; 4) Gathering the capital’s resource advantage as the cultural center to drive the development of the industry through demonstration; 5) Expanding the international cultural exchange channels to boost Chinese culture going global; and 6) Advocating the thrifty and pragmatic concept to optimize the expo structure.
 
In the news briefing, the responsible people of the concerned parties of the Organizing Committee replied to the questions raised by reporters from Beijing TV, Xiamen TV, China Trade News, Culture Monthly and other media, respectively.
