Anita Huss-Ekerhult

She became Deputy Secretary General and General Counsel of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO), based in Brussels (Belgium), in 2008. Before joining IFRRO, she gained experience at major international law firms in Belgium, Germany and Sweden, working as a corporate transactions and competition lawyer.
Anita is a German-qualified attorney, with three postgraduate law degrees from King’s College, London (LL.M. in EU, US & UK Copyright Law), Uppsala University (LL.M. in International and Comparative Law) and Stockholm University (LL.M. in European Law). At IFRRO, Anita is responsible for legal analysis and legal advice regarding a broad range of legal matters, with a focus on copyright law (including orphan works, out-of-commerce works, reprography levies, exceptions for libraries, education and print-impaired persons), copyright enforcement, public lending right, resale right, data protection law, protection of computer programs and databases, in addition to general corporate, labour and competition law-related questions. Her tasks also include the participation in the meetings of the IFRRO Board of Directors and IFRRO Working Groups and Fora, giving advice on all legal matters, as well as representing IFRRO in European and international fora, such as WIPO and UNESCO, and providing legal assistance and outreach to IFRRO’s 140 member organisations in 80 countries worldwide.
